- Students can add more evidence from reliable sources.
- Topics can be discussed as Socratic Seminar, Philosophical Chair, Fishbowl, Formal Debate....

- Read the articles and watch the video to help prepare for your assignment.
- Read the two topics Freedom of Speech and Performance v. Substantive Activism.
- Choose one of the topics to discuss.
- It is important to keep an open mind for the possibility that you might change your viewpoint.
- The conversation should move towards problem solving.
Part B. Create Your Own Topic for Civil Discourse
- Choose a different topic and search for information that will allow for an in depth discussion.
- Take note of the resources gathered for the previous two topics in this lesson.
- Gather information from reliable sources before beginning your debate/civil discourse.
