Inspired by the Scarlet Letter
Alice was alone in the woods. After having a baby out of wedlock, she was donned with the scarlet letter “A.” The once obedient schoolgirl that had the opportunity to attend boarding school, has now been faced with a new situation.
She knew who the father was, a high-profile teacher at the school, but was afraid that he would be fired if she were to expose him. Because of Alice's restraint, she carried the burden for not one, two, but eight months. For the majority of the school year, classmates continually mocked her with the name Awful Alice and give her the letter drenched in the blood of a lamb.
When the baby started showing, she knew it was time to go. Alice, unable to take all the sorrow and guilt, found herself in the dark woods of the night.
